There is no ‘But …”
27 November 2023Thwarting the Time Thief
18 December 2023Please help me understand a lot of the rhetoric that is currently flying around the globe, the most popular being “From the river to the sea Palestine will be free” which calls for the extermination of the Jews in Israel, because the Palestinian people, who as a grouping includes Jews and Arabs, want all the land for themselves. This has been the case since 1948 when the state of Israel was created, and their continued refusal to come to any sort of peaceful agreement of co-habitation since then is the cause of the constant conflict in the area.
Now, bear with me, is this not colonialism? The need to remove a people from their land, and this can be disputed until eternity, historical evidence relegated to a minor hiccup in the argument, and control all of it surely is a quest for colonisation? Similar moves by the same people in northern Mozambique, against America, the West, all smack of overt colonialism to me. Colonialism that demands extinction as voiced in the shouts of Jihad or whatever motive drives this group: Kill the Americans, Kill the Jews, Kill the Christians! Kill, kill, kill. Not suppress, not rule, not subjugate, but kill!
Doesn’t sit easy in my heart.
